Yaoi: get some Incubus Master for free

Yaoi: get some Incubus Master for free photo

No one is going to believe me when I say that I'm posting this for reasons having almost nothing to do with yaoi, but it can't be helped. I don't want to say anything bad about yaoi because I have absolutely nothing against it, but I feel almost obligated to bash it to combat the assumption that I'm one of those crazy yaoi fangirls just because I happen to be female. However, being at Japanator has exposed me to Yaoi Press, a publisher I never would have taken any interest in on my own, and I find them to be a very progressive, interesting company. I kind of wish they offered more than just yaoi (and some yuri, oh joy), because if I had an interest in their products I would be happy to support them. As it stands, I'll just pass it on to you guys.

Part 1 of the new Yaoi Prose title, Incubus Master, is free with any purchase from everythingyaoi.com. It will be free for everyone on January 7th. Apparently, these erotic ebooks are mostly prose with color illustrations accompanying each part, a format I would like to investigate, albeit in other genres. Incubus Master is about, err, an Incubus who is rather dominant --as opposed to all those wallfloweresque,  submissive incubi, presumably. Crap, there I go making fun of it like an ass again. The prose is written by Yamila Abraham (Dark Prince, Winter Demon), and the illustrations provided by Barbara Apostolico (Cain, Winter Demon.)

On another interesting note, the sale of Yaoi Prose ebooks goes towards financing future Yaoi Press graphic novels- apparently, a portion of the money earned from Incubus Master will go towards financing the artwork for Bastard King, a sequel to Dark Prince. I take the fact that financing the artwork is a major issue as an indication that Yaoi is paying their artists decently, and not conning some poor college art student into doing it for them for peanuts, which is still way more common than it should be.

You know what? It's New Year's Eve. I'm so impressed with what I've learned about Yaoi Press, I resolve to start reading yaoi just to support them. I'm sure my catholic schoolgirl-esque gasps and fainting spells will go away once I've taken the time to acclimate myself, right? Don't laugh, in June when you feel stupid for giving up on your New Year's resolution to lose twenty pounds and learn French, I'll wave a kindle filled with porn in your face and feel superior.
