That's a lot of yaoi for one headline, isn't it? Well, it seems as though some people have been taking issue with the yaoi paddles present at Otakon last month, with a thread discussing the issue going on here. So, why not capitalize on some controversy? Yaoi Press, a yaoi publisher, has decided to go ahead and work towards putting out yaoi parasols.
This is an attempt to create something similar to the success of the yaoi paddles, which are essentially carried around like big signs saying ‘I’m a yaoi fan.’ The parasols will work the same, and have a hint of gothic lolita mixed in.
One of my tasks right now is finding the right artist to create the artwork. This has to be moved on quickly to come out in time for Yaoi Con.
So, for all of you yaoi artists, start bombarding YaoiPress with links to you deviantart accounts!
Now, as for this issue with the yaoi paddles, I haven't yet found it extremely grating, but I can see that the people who use them try to make their presence known. A word of advice: tone it down before something too harsh happens.
