The smell. I always thought it was a joke as I have been to a lot of conventions this year. But no, it is indeed real and quite vomit inducing. I went to Yaoi-Con this past Saturday and can safely say that I have no reason to ever go again. Yes, there were plenty of girl-on-girl action and everyone knows I'm a giant pervert but even that can't bring me back. I think the worst part about the whole thing was that there were way too many people at the con that I could not discern from male or female -- that was really freaky.
The art booths and merch booths were set up extremely nicely with plenty of stuff for sale. The panels were however badly set up. They were all in small rooms and for the one I went to, the Kingdom Hearts panel, they weren't allowed to use the T.V. So the films they wanted to show us were shown on their laptop instead. Seeing as how the room was filled past the limit and all of them wanted to watch this film (that anyone could watch on YouTube), I didn't stick around.
Just to clarify, I wasn't creeped out by all the images of penis-touching-penis action. No, the Internet has desensitized me thanks to stuff like Goatze and Tubgirl. It was just the people there. It was just this weird energy they all gave off that made me feel totally creeped out. Don't even get me started on the fat people wearing next to nothing either.
Anyway, check out the gallery and for more pictures, check out this Flickr. Also, Brad had some news that came out of Yaoi-Con the other day. Also, Azereki has his take on the day up, too.
I bet the creepyness hung in the air
