If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, at least. That big ol' New People mall-thing that opened this year in San Francisco's Japantown district is holding a special event to celebrate all Hallow's Eve, appropriately focused on Japan's Yokai folk monsters.

It's called Yokai University, San Francisco Campus, and will be featuring art from Shigeru Mizuki, the mangaka behind GeGeGe Kitaro and the Yokai Daizukai.  While the exhibition itself will run from October 23rd to November 6th, the key events are a showing of Battle League Horumo at New People's VIZ Cinema theater and a special Yokai-themed lecture by Matt Alt, author of the Yokai Survival Guide, an English language guidebook.

The lecture takes place on October 31st at 1PM. Anyone in the SF Bay Area planning to go?
