...In America! 4kids gives Yu-Gi-Oh! subs 'das boot' (see what I did there?)

If you're up for some dueling monster action, you'll have to do it in English...IN AMERICA!

4Kids entertainment seems to have unleashed the depth charges and sunk Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters' English-language subs. It will no longer be streaming Japanese episodes on its YouTube channel. For that matter, subtitled versions will no longer be available in any format, including DVD and On-Demand, apparently due to a "rights issue" in Japan.

Fans of the children's card game anime need not fear though. The rights issue won't be affecting future or current series besides Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. Subtitled, unedited episodes of Sonic X will be streamed on Hulu in the near future. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX will be available in both Moonspeak and American on YouTube.

That's a good thing, I suppose. I've never watched a single episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I do know Kaiba is a big fat tsundere if you hear him in Japanese. Hit the jump for video proof, in Sand Canyon MAD format. Make sure to turn on closed captioning for the English subtitles. It's the little button in the lower-right menu with "cc" on it.
