A Legend of the Galactic Heroes video game?! DO WANT

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is arguably one of the most epic anime series of all time. Spanning ten novels and twenty-eight years of episodes, gaiden OVAs and movies, it is practically required viewing for any hardcore sci-fi otaku.

And now it's getting a game. See? Dreams CAN come true!

GameOn, a Japanese online game producer, has optioned the global rights to adapt the Yoshiki Tanaka-authored novels into a browser-based online game.

Wait, what? Browser-based?

OK, dreams can partially come true. We still don't have all the details, after all, and GameOn seems to be hinting that the game might see a full, global release. One shouldn't conclude just yet that the game will be more Farmville than Homeworld.

Besides, this game likely has a better chance of making it over than the real-time strategy title published by Namco Bandai back in 2008 for the PC in Japan. If GameOn's offering is anything like that, and is released in English, I'll be very happy.

Check out a trailer for the Namco-produced game below. It reminds me a bit of Sins of a Solar Empire, another epically-named game.
