Add 'Hare Hare Yukai' to your vinyl collection

Nebs spotted an interesting little item over at the Bandai online store: a 45rpm vinyl of "Hare Hare Yukai," from The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. The item was on sale in Japan since back in 2007, but it surprises me that the record would make its way over to the US.

So, what was the decision-making process to offer this? My guess is that Lantis over in Japan was sitting on a stockpile of these things, since I doubt that the vinyl scene in Japan is anywhere near as big as it is over here -- or at least the crossover between vinyl fans and otaku are pretty slim. So they figured they may as well ship a bunch of them over to the US of A, since there was no need for translation, region codes or anything. Just sell 'em as-is.

And hey, for just under $9? Why not add a little bit of otaku to your vinyl collection.
