Asuka's undies prove more popular than expected

They just can't keep them stocked

I certainly wouldn't call myself a huge Evangelion fan, but Asuka Langely has always held a special place in my heart. In fact, she's one of the few tsunderekko I've ever grown fond of. Of course, I've always thought was an unpopular opinion with almost everyone I've ever asked telling me that they prefer Rei. So, imagine my surprise to learn that Asuka was voted the third most popular female anime character of the 90s. You'd think that popularity might have waned, but these might prove otherwise.

Modeled after the the pair worn by Asuka herself in the second film and sold exclusively through the official Evangelion online store, this limited set comes complete with a pair of red and white striped-panties and matching camisole, along with a small red pouch featuring the NERV logo. It's only available in medium, and retails for roughly $50 USD. Given the price and sizing limitations, you'd think they wouldn't be so quick to sell, but believe it or not, they're completely sold out. I imagine they're currently on back-order, so if you're dead set on obtaining a pair for yourself -- though for many of you, I can only imagine why -- you'll want to keep checking back. It also helps if you have a friend in Japan willing to hook you up, as I'm not sure if they handle international orders.
