Aw snap, Ninninger's toys reveal Shurikenjin's gimmicks

Robo Throne Activate!

It's time to look at Ninninger's first set of toys, and things are starting to look even more promising for the upcoming ninja-themed Sentai series. Of course, the best thing out of this toyline is the Shurikenjin, since it's practically a robot that sits on a freaking giant robot throne. Not only that, the colossal ninja is able to change into different forms, which depends on the robot who sits on the royal chair.

Interestingly the robots that make up the Shurikenjin are a ninja, a dragon, a dump truck, a dog, and a train. Going by the names of Shinobimaru, Dragomaru, Dumpmaru, Wanmaru, and Byunmaru, the Ninninger's theme for the robots seem very random. I mean, how are dump trucks and trains connected to ninjas? If anything, the ridiculous concept behind the mechs might imply that the show'll be very fun and silly.

In regards to the Shurikenjin's form changing gimmick mentioned earlier, the robot utilizes various shuriken-like helmets to make this feature possible. For example, if the Shurikenjin wears a blue helmet, then it'll change into Shurikenjn Drago, a machine that places Dragomaru on the throne. Aside from Ao Ninger's robot, the Shurikenjin can utilize two support machines known as the Otomo Shinobu, which go by the name of Paonmaru and UFOmaru. With these two robots at its side, the machine can also become an elephant ninja or a UFO ninja robot.

Next up, we have the team's regular weapons, with the first one being the Shinobi Ichibangatana (toy includes Aka Ninger's shuriken), which also acts as their transformation device. Then there's the Gama Gama Ju (toy includes Ao Ninger's shuriken), a gun that resembles a frog. Since the actual legend of Jiraiya features frogs, the firearm's theme goes well with the show's motif. Of course, the team has their own special shurikens known as Shinobi Shurikens, which grant their armaments and machines new abilities.

Seeing that ninjas need something to store their throwing weapons, the Ninninger use the Ninnin Buckle (toy includes Shiro Ninger's shuriken) for this purpose. While we're still on the topic of projectile arms, the team's Karakuri Hengen (includes Ki Ninger's shuriken) shuriken can change into a sword, a bow, and a claw; therefore making it an interesting all-purpose device. Last but not least, the Ninninger can use the Goton Shinobi Shuriken to summon the powers of fire, water, wood, metal, and earth on the Yokai.

Based on the toys' gimmicks, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger continues to show more potential with each new update. That being said, the Year of the Ninja is going to be a strong year for people everywhere. On that note, what do you all think of the show's toys and features?
