Aw, yeah: Trails of Cold Steel hits us with its best S-Craft attacks

Let's have a sophisticated fight

I may not be too far in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky but its prologue chapter has already made me a fan of the game already. Since Estelle and Joshua's great chemistry pulled me in, I guess you could say that it was love at first sight. That said, I'm certain that I'll enjoy this franchise more as I progress further through the title and its sequel.

Anyway, as we get ready for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel's PS3 and Vita release on Dec. 22, XSEED smacks us with a new trailer that show's off the main cast's best Crafts and S-Crafts. In other words, we're getting a taste of the gang's unique skills and ultimate moves.

So far, Falcom has done a good job with capturing the aspects that made the mechanics from the previous games great. In fact, it got me excited to use these skills when I get to play Trails of Cold Steel. Based on the voices shown so far, there's a great chance that they'll grow on me. Of course, the game's violin music is catchy as hell, which managed to get me excited for its soundtrack.

As a quick reminder, the game takes place in the Erebonian region, which is north from the area that players explore in Trails in the Sky. A neat thing about Trails of Cold Steel is that we're playing as a group of people who attend a military academy in the country since it might give people a different angle on how the game's narrative is presented to them. Best of all, Falcom confirmed that players can play this game before the other Trails titles. Most importantly, the game has horseback riding!

To those who plan to get both versions of Trails of Cold Steel, the game will utilize the cross-save system. That way, people can continue on their quest at their house and on the go. Both versions are priced at $39.99, with the special edition being $49.99. As another reminder, this version contains an artbook, a pin of Erebonia's Emblem, and a fancy box that lets players store Trails of Cold Steel and its sequel in the same place.
