Check out this awesome retro Japanese sci-fi art

Remember the good ol' days of the 70s and 80s? When sci-fi was a thing with a wonderfully cheesy imagination and near limitless future? Well now you can check out sci-fi art as the Japanese saw it during this time. Even though these pieces were done during the 70s-80s, I really think they have a huge 1950s feel to them, harkening back to titles like Forbidden Planet and Buck Rogers.

I also see a definite Star Trek influence, especially in the first picture in the gallery. Swooped eyebrows much? Several of these pieces also give me a Blade Runner type of feel, in that they mix older or grittier imagery with sci-fi elements. Whatever it is that these pieces have--it's got me hooked.

Hit the gallery and check out these sci-fi pieces. Which one is your favorite?
