Colony drop: Right Stuf to distribute Gundam UC on DVD

Feast your eyes on a cheaper option for Gundam Unicorn.

It looks like the hope in the form of Gundam is still around in North America, since Right Stuf has signed up with Sunrise to release Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn on DVD. Long story short, the series is going to be released in four parts (Two episodes per part, with the final part having one episode and more extras.), which is a cheaper option than buying the individual Blu-ray volumes that have come out so far.

Sure, it's a bit unfortunate that we aren't getting a Blu-ray set, but the price that Right Stuf is charging for the set is not too bad, since Gundam Unicorn Part 1 and Part 2 are going to be available on August 20th for US $29.99 each. Even better, people who pre-order Part 1 and Part 2 through Right Stuff will be able to get them for US $22.49 each instead of the price mentioned in the previous sentence.

When you look at the big picture, Right Stuf has nabbed themselves a good opportunity, and I'm hoping that this team up grows into Right Stuf handling the distribution of other Sunrise shows in North America later on. Based on what I've seen of Gundam UC, the series does a phenomenal job in bringing us back to the Universal Century universe, so it's great to see that we have an affordable option for Unicorn once again.
