Cool and cheerful Japanese energy conservation posters

In the wake of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, there has been a widespread call for energy conservation in effort to relieve the impact of the disasters and divert power to where it is really needed. Seeing a need to inform the masses, a Twitter community of Japanese graphic designers called Setsuden Copy, decided to make a bunch of posters to help spread the word.

The posters are delightfully cheery and very bright and vivid, gently instructing people to conserve energy. I think this is exactly the right feel during these times of turmoil. I love seeing my fellow artists and designers stepping up to the plate to help during a crisis.

Residents of Japan affected by rolling blackouts and power conservation are being encouraged by the designers to print out the posters and post them anywhere to help spread the word!
