Creamy Mami hits home stretch on AnimeSols, with giveaway

Win Takada-sensei's shikishi for unfortunately named 80s girls' cartoon

One of the best kept secret of AnimeSols's pledging system is that you can buy previously funded sets with a pledge of a subsequent fundraising set. To highlight this helpful feature and to reward loyal backers who have floated this 4-cour TV production on DVD thus far, AnimeSols is giving away an autographed and illustrated signboard to a backers who pledged for four Creamy Mami sets, including those who may pledge only for set four and added the first three as add-ons. You can see a video of its creator Akemi Takada drawing the prize here.

Despite the generally bothersome site design and difficulty in getting key info out, AnimeSols has done pretty well for these older anime titles on the whole; while many pledge drives failed, the relatively more popular titles are finding some success in the process. That is already a boom given how almost all these titles were written away as unmarketable in the North American market in the past.

It's uncertain if funded shows will be able to find their way to retail in the future, so right now is your best chance to get all of Creamy Mami on DVD, the 80s shoujo cartoon featuring a plucky 10-year-old that can transform into a popular idol. The last Creamy Mami set pledge ends in about another 8 days.
