Gotta love the power of convenience

If you're looking for a more convenient way of utilizing beats from retro video game systems into your songs, the gang at Impact Soundworks and Overclock Remix have teamed up to create Super Audio Cart, a software that provides people with lots samples from old-school consoles to help them create their own songs with 8 and 16-bit assets.

The program contains 5,500 samples from the Commodore 64, Atari 2600, NES/Famicom, SNES/Super Famicom, Master System, Genesis/Mega Drive and the Gameboy. Best of all, each sound and tune that's featured in Super Audio Cart replicates the sounds from the actual consoles very well. This is thanks to the people behind the software recording the samples themselves. To top it off, the program works with Kontakt Player, which means that this software is open to everyone.

Super Audio Cart is available on Impact Soundworks' Website for $149. If you're on the fence on whether to get the software or not, the team have included a few samples songs that used the program's offerings on the page so you can get a taste of what to expect.

Since Super Audio Cart provides people with a large array of retro game samples, I could see this being a helpful tool for anyone wants to create their own unique tunes with resources that are more faithful to the classic systems. Who knows, we might see some folks use it in future remix tracks or video games soon.
