Cri-moe-a: Natalia Poklonskaya responds to getting anime-fied

0

She seems to be taking it well

Depending on where you get your news, the recent actions of the Russian government in the Ukrainian state of Crimea could be a correction of a historical mistake or the violation of a nation's sovereignty...or it could be an opportunity to get some sweet anime fan-art made of yourself.

At least, that's how it was for the newly appointed Prosecutor of the Crimean Republic, Natalia Poklonskaya. With a combination of good looks and an un-subtitled press conference, she went viral among the more creative sections of Japan's internet, igniting that spark of creativity and inspiring all manner of artists to create new work based on the latest muse.

By now it seems that we'd seen or heard about the pretty lady in uniform from just about everyone - except Ms. Poklonskaya herself. Thankfully we have that, too, as Youtube user Kazzura helpfully subtitled a video conducted by the Ukrainian press about their Prosecutor's newfound popularity. To her credit, she doesn't seem off-put about it, and considers it part of the public life. Plus, she's far too busy with work to be worried about what a bunch of nerds across the internet think of her right side. Her 9-year-old daughter seems happy that she's becoming "an anime heroine" as well.

Check out the interview below, along with a selection of some of our favorite art of Ms. Poklonskaya. The diversity of art on display is actually amazing, ranging from super-deformed to super-heroic to memetic...to Annie Leonhardt from Attack on Titan, even.
