Crunchyroll will stream Mushi-shi special

The streaming service will bring the one-off special to fans online.

Wow, here's a nice surprise: Crunchyroll will be streaming the Mushi-shi anime special airing in January, just about a week from now. This event reunites the staff behind the excellent Mushi-shi anime series to create a single TV special. It'll air on January 4th at 8:30 AM Pacific time for Premium members, and one week later for free users. No word yet on what the story will entail, but I imagine it'll feature people troubled by Mushi and some contemplative pacing and visuals.

I'm a little surprised that this was nabbed, as usually one-off specials don't get much love on streaming services, but it's nice to see Crunchyroll do something cool like this. Hopefully it pays off and fans tune in. If you guys haven't seen Mushi-shi, now is a great time to catch up before all the new shows begin!

What a nice little New Year's treat!
