Deep Silver to publish Atlus and Sega games (and Persona 5) in Europe

Took 'em long enough

Time for some relief, European otaku: You'll get Persona 5 - and more - in your neck of the woods. Atlus and Sega have found a new partner for European publishing.

The agreement comes in the wake of NIS America cutting its ties with Atlus and Sega, citing difficulties in maintaining a satisfactory relationship with Atlus following its merger with Sega. After the release of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, NIS jumped ship, leaving the fates of numerous Atlus games unclear until today.

Now Deep Silver, which publishes, among other things, the Metro series, Saints Row, Dead Island, and Homefront, will be publishing not just Persona 5 but a number of other Sega and Atlus titles, including 7th Dragon Code VFD and Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. All the mentioned titles will be receiving both physical and digital releases, with more on the way. Few other details, like release dates, were forthcoming, but it's at least comforting to know that Europeans who can't import aren't left in the cold by the Atlus/NIS breakup.
