Don't leave on Pokemon adventures without a field guide

The Field Guide to Kanto, that is, because we're old school

Kari Fry is so dedicated to your success as a Pokémon trainer that she created a beautiful field guide to all things Kanto. It kind of flew under our radar - this book was released at the end of November and it sold out last week - but Fangamer says they'll have it back in stock come January.

The 158-full-color-page book is available as a hardback (US$32, comes with a bonus poster that doubles as the book's dust cover) or paperback (US$23). It features illustrations of all original 151 Pokémon along with a wealth of information about them and their habits (and habitats), and even a map of the whole region to keep you on track. Sure, you can just go to Bulbapedia and get all this info for free, and look up fanart on Pixiv and Deviant Art, but it just isn't the same. It wasn't painstakingly created by a brilliant artist and printed into a nice book that you can take with you anywhere, even where wireless signals fail you.

Check out the gallery for some images from the Field Guide, and be sure to sign up on the sale page on Fangamer for the alert when this is back in stock if you're interested in a copy!
