Election held for stray cat idols

What does your town do when it has a lot of stray cats? If you lived in the town of Saga, it would make them celebrities instead of calling animal control.

Two years ago, Saga decided to deal with its stray cat problem by choosing eight kitties from the downtown area as "stray cat idols," with shops selling souvenirs and even cookies bearing the cats' faces. However, as stray cats are wont to do, two of the cats strayed. Because stray cats are pretty hard to find once they've left, Saga has decided to replace them with two new cat idols drawn from the many other stray cats in the town.

Following the lead of AKB48, fans were allowed to vote on which two cats would be included in this unusual idol group. Out of eight candidates, "Horie no Pan" ("Horie's Bread") and "Chibi #4" were chosen with 395 and 244 votes respectively. However, by the time voting was done, Chibi #4 had left the downtown area to elope with a female stray, so "Ni Sen Man En" ("¥20,000,000") was bumped up to second place with only 90 votes.

Apparently, the local government isn't grasping the fact that stray cats are not the most reliable residents.
