Eureka Seven shreds the skies with giant mechs again in new movie trilogy

Energy Surfing Robots

12 years ago, Eureka Seven first introduced us to giant mecha that can surf giant waves of invisible energy waves in the sky. This year, a new film trilogy based on Eureka Seven will start with the first film named Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution. This new trilogy will contain a never before shown but referenced event known as "Summer of Love" which takes place around 10 years before the beginning of the show.

The trilogy will follow the same basic story as the show but with a new ending as well as new stuff like footage and scenes along with some redone lines. This is not the first time that Eureka Seven got a film, Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers came out in 2009 with its own original story and is a alternate universe to the original series. Check out the trailer below featuring music from German electronic music duo Hardloor.

I've only seen a little bit of the original series but I saw all of the sequel series Eureka Seven: Astral Ocean and liked the giant surfin' robots and [potentially spoiler] stuff in that show a lot. I'll give this new one a try since it looks pretty intriguing because of [spoiler stuff].
