Ever wanted to pilot a robot?

Well this Japanese company makes them

Ah, I can see it now. It's 2015, and people have started to use robots instead of cars. Wouldn't that be awesome? Well luckily for us, a Japanese company built one, and you could be piloting it as we speak.

Sakakibara Kikai has created an 11-foot Landwalker: a real, moving robot that you can pilot. As with most robots we've seen in anime, you pilot it from an area near the chest. It's not programmed to walk once you get in it, nor does it have any special buttons to do something automatic. You literally get to make it move entirely on your own.

If you think there is some requirement to pilot it, don't worry. You don't need any experience whatsoever to do so! At Wonder Festival, where the Landwalker was located, 12 people at random got to try this bad boy out. Damn I'm jealous!

I don't know about you, but after hearing about the Landwalker, all I could think about was Evangelion. If you don't want to be a part of that series, you're lying! It's hands-down my favorite, and I know that's the same for quite a lot of people. Seeing something like this is almost a dream come true for not only Evangelion fans, but also Gundam, Gurren Lagann, and other various mecha anime fans.

Take a look at footage from the event below:

Even though it looks a bit unstable, you have to admit you want one of your own! I know I certainly do. Do you think Shinji would have volunteered to pilot it?
