Featured Fan Art: Falcoon

0

[Welcome, friends and right-click-savers, to another edition of Featured Fan Art, where we highlight and explore the best fandom-induced scribbles we can find.]

Today's featured artist has been around for quite a while, and fighting game fans may well have encountered the above header image in one website or another. He's called "Falcoon," and he seems to love fighting games.

Besides his love for various fighting game franchises (including The King of Fighters, Darkstalkers, Street Fighter and Guilty Gear), Falcoon boasts a style that seems uncommon compared to the many other pieces of fan art one might find all about these here 'tubes. The larger lips and exaggerated proportions very much suit the over-the-top character designs found in many of the games his art venerates. I wouldn't be surprised if one day his work made it into their very own game.

[Update - And it seems they did. Silly me for not keeping up with fighting games, but Falcoon is none other than Tatsuhiko Kanaoka, a character designer working at SNK Playmore. Thanks to N1nJar and Strey for the correction!]

But enough faffing about. Ready your image folders, for the gallery lies below! You can find more of Falcoon's work at his website.

Remember, if you know of a great fan artist you'd like to see up on the site, don't hesitate to send us a tip! And if you happen to be a great fan artist, we'd love to hear from you!
