Featured Fan Art: Hayaken

Welcome to Featured Fan Art, the regular Japanator gallery post that hasn't actually been "regular" in quite a while. That's a mistake that needs rectifying.

That in mind, our partner in problem-solving this week is the artist known as "Hayaken", who's in the habit of making incredibly well-detailed faux-oil-painting artwork. He's also got an interesting sense of humor, as the works displayed below  include a frighteningly "realistic" depiction of MewTwo, as well as gritty renditions of Kamen Rider Blade and Joker. Also included are some fine-looking illustrations of the Metal Gear Solid series' four cyborg ninjas.

When not making fan works, Hayaken creates a good amount of original art, most of which wouldn't look bad at all if placed on the cover of a fantasy novel. Judging from his Pixiv page, dragons, armored knights and ladies posing with dragons and/or armored knights seem to be his forte.

And remember, if you know a great fan artist, or happen to be a great fan artist, drop us a line! You might be our next featured fan artist!
