Final Fantasy X HD is looking outstanding

Who isn't ready for this?

Memories are often better than reality, yet these screenshots of Final Fantasy X HD look even more wonderful than what I remember from the original game. This release will be a beautiful way to both get new players to experience it for the first time, and get veterans to take another romp back through the colorful world of Spira. Maybe next, we can get a next-gen Blitzball game that … wait, no one wants that.

The cutscene shots look nice and crisp, but it's the battle screenshots that are getting me in the mood. Seeing Tidus and Yuna with over 90k HP and a giant enemy towering over them has me itching to activate some Sphere Grid nodes and knock down some special bosses. Let's not forget that these versions are based off of the International releases, which means more content than North America originally got-- including extra boss monsters.

Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD is coming out in Japan on December 26 and is slated to be released everywhere else in 2014. Hop on over to Destructoid to see a whole bunch more of these beautiful shots. I’m ready to experience the infamous "laughing scene" in HD: are you?
