Friday Robot Intermission: fantasy mecha edition

0

Once again, it's Friday. Oh, but this is no special Friday. Today, as I'm sure you're all aware, is Black Friday; the day when soccer moms punch each other in the face for a Tickle Me Elmo doll. Well, instead of experiencing that rush, I'm glad you're here checking out Japanator. It seems that after our big traffic spike last week, we've gone down to a much more regular state of traffic, picking up some new members along the way. I'd like to thank Krys Yuy, the webmistress of For Richer or Poorer, for sending over some of her readers to us. I hope you all decide to stay with us for a while. As we approach the closing of our first month here at Japanator, we're looking to bring you even more content daily. One thing I'm looking for from the community is feedback on how we're doing. What do you like? What do you hate? What's missing? Leave a comment on this post or contact us. I want to do all I can to improve this site, and your help is needed. So, I've gone with the fantasy mech edition because I've just finished Utawarerumono, and it makes me long for Escaflowne and other fantasy anime. Escaflowne was a really well done series, despite the ultra-pointy noses, and I think its one of those series that I'd consider a classic. The movie was nowhere near as good, though, as it tried to summarize the plot of the series within 2 hours and failed miserably. Utawarerumono was also good, although for some reason, it made me feel as though I had seen a lot of this already in older anime. Any recommendations for a good fantasy anime to watch? The ending came as a compromising position, with a product the nation could be proud of. Also, when you make something, who is the first person who gets to try it? Oh, and it appears as though someone has come within 50 of the correct answer. The contest will be ending next Thursday, so this'll be all the clues that are going to be given.
