Get Pumped: The next Super Robot Wars game gets an amusing teaser

It's about to get hot in here

No matter what type of mood I'm in, a new Super Robot Wars trailer always manages to lift my spirits. I guess this just has to do with my love for seeing cool-looking machines doing badass things. Speaking of which, it turns out the next game in the series is a new Original Generations title called Super Robot Wars OG: The Moon Dwellers.

Of course, this means that we can look forward to a wonderful trailer that shows off the game's amazing 2D robot animations. While this announcement wasn't related to 3rd Super Robot Wars OG, it's cool to see that Touya Shiun and his robot Granteed from Super Robot Wars J are the stars of The Moon Dwellers; thus expanding the series' roster of ridiculous characters and units. Accompanying him in his quest, Katia Grineal, and Melua Melna Meia will return as support allies. While Festenia Muse wasn't announced, I'm certain she'll appear in it as well.

Other than J's main male hero, the gang from Super Robot Wars GC/XO are abandoning their 3D design in favor of a 2D one. Both Akimi and Akemi Atsuki will appear in the title as twins. Their units are the Soul Saber SS and the Soul Saber GG, which might be two different forms of the same machine since both characters were piloting it together.

As for the other announced stuff, the Exbein Boxer Type R and Type G, along with the Compatible Kaiser G. Based on this predicament, I'm going to guess that the Huckebein Mk III from the previous games became obsolete. If anything, it's a neat followup to the Exbein from 2nd Super Robot Wars OG.

Last but not least, the game's Producer confirmed in an interview that Calvina Coulange from Super Robot Wars J will make an appearance. On top of that, players can look forward to a route split where they get to choose between Touya and Calvina's path, with the former being great for newcomers to the series. Speaking of which, there's also a Beginner Mode that grants people extra funds so they can upgrade their units more easily. Best of all, The Moon Dwellers is 70 percent complete, and it launches in Japan this year for the PS4 and PS3.

Since this is the first title that's being made to commemorate the franchise's 25th Anniversary, it looks like 2016 is officially The Year of Super Robot Wars as this isn't the only project that's being made. As we wait for the other SRW-related goodies to be announced, I'm going to continue drooling over The Moon Dwellers' visuals.
