Ghibli to do Princess Mononoke play in London

One of Studio Ghibli's twitter accounts announced yesterday that they will be putting on a stage version of Princess Mononoke at London's New Diorama Theatre. The show will be a short one, running from April 2 - 6 in 2013. Tickets are already on sale, which you can nab for pre-order for about $22, plus whatever it will cost you to get to London.

Wow, is all I can say.

Of all the Ghibli titles to pick, Princess Mononoke is one hell of a show to pull off: between the fantastical beasts and the action scenes, it'll be an audacious feat to pull off this production.

Depending on how well the show does, maybe they'll bring it to Broadway. C'mon, Disney! I know you can do it! You already got Newsies on stage, and The Lion King is a perennial seller -- why not give a few days' worth of stage to Mononoke?
