Go full weeaboo with Overwatch's anime intros

Go further down this rabbit hole

Overwatch. It's all anyone can seem to talk about when it comes to hot new games, and with good reason: Blizzard's team shooter is kind of rad, and appeals to a lot of folks. Part of the reason for that is its deep bench of interesting characters. Heck, if I didn't know better, I'd have assumed Overwatch was a multiplayer tie-in game based on some obscure anime series.

It looks like more than a few people have cottoned onto that notion, which would explain the burgeoning genre of Overwatch footage being done up in the anime style. For my money, the best ones have been made by Youtube user Inkling Inkling, who mashed up "Savior of Song", the opening theme of Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova with Overwatch's Disney-esque take on CG heroes. Check it out below, alongside a new intro based on Genji and Hanzo set to Gintama's "Samurai Heart" theme, and some instructions on how to really weeb it up in Overwatch if you want the full "anime" experience.

Overwatch is being published by Square Enix in Japan, and features a large cast of famous voice actors covering the various roles. To hear them in action on your version of the PC game, you'll need to head into the "Settings" menu of the Battle.net client. From there, select "Game Settings" and scroll down to Overwatch's options. You should see dropdown menus for "Text Language" and "Spoken Language". Then just select Japanese (日本語) for "Spoken Language" and you'll be done. You can select it for Text as well if you're feeling brave and/or literate. Then you can experience the likes of this while you play:
