Gorgeous pixel-art gifs capture the humble side of Tokyo life

So peaceful and tranquil

Sundays are designed to be lazy. Wake up late, coffee and novel 'til noon, walk or gardening 'til night, and then if you're like me getting all the homework and projects finished for deadline Monday!

Artist Yuuta Toyoi has created a series of pixel art animated scenes that capture small moments in the midst of Tokyo's rush-rush lifestyle. Each one has a few frames of animation but are able to capture the quieter aspects of city life. I love the colours, the emotion, and the lack of music adds to the effect of tranquility to these pieces. An unnerving observation I found is the jellyfish in some brown liquid inside the coffee store. Makes me just question, why? Check out a few more below and a wider selection at Toyoi's Tumblr page.
