Gyaru girls march in support of...tampons?

Well this is certainly one way to get people to notice your cause. According to Japan Probe, the Unicharm Corporation apparently convinced around 100 gyaru to wear pink shirts and wave fans around in order to promote the use of tampons. It's part of a Pon-Katsu campaign to...honestly I'm not sure. Seems they want women to buy tampons, maybe theirs? Who knows, but at least people are now aware of...this event, at the very least.

It's a strange marketing stunt, in my opinion. Generally I'd try to mobilize a bunch of cute, trendy girls to sell stuff to guys. Using their cuteness to sell stuff to women just seems like a waste of marketing potential. Get these girls promoting something ridiculous like that watermelon cooler push cart and you can watch the money roll in.
