Hello Kitty is preparing to surprise you in April

More of Hello Kitty's awesome adventures afoot

This week saw the release of Hello Kitty Delicious!, the second volume in the new Hello Kitty manga series being published by VIZ Media's Perfect Square imprint. And hot on its heels is the listing of Hello Kitty Surprise!, which has been given a street date of April 1st, 2014. At a glance, anything with that date looks like a joke, I'm sure, but I'm pretty sure this book will see its release that week.

You'll see my thoughts on Delicious! soon enough, but it's never too early to get excited for more. Here's the brief synopsis for the next installment of Kitty's adventures:

What’s that? Who’s there? It’s a surprise!

Expect the unexpected! A day at the beach is more than just fun in the sun. A mysterious egg holds a tiny secret. Mama and Papa have a few secrets of their own. And a quiet afternoon with a good book is more enchanting than Hello Kitty ever could have imagined!

Plus, prepare to be amazed by Anastassia Neislotova’s tales of wonder!

Hello Kitty Surprise! will feature Jacob Chabot and Jorge Monlongo, of course. And this time, they'll be joined by Ian McGinty who did some work for Delicious! and Anastassia Neislotova, who is a fresh face for the series. Here's a sneak preview of what she's bringing to the new book.
