Hilarious performances from this year's Kasou Taisho special


Japan Probe found these awesome videos from this year’s Kasou Taisho (Kinchan and Katori Shingo’s All Japan Costume Grand Prix) competition. This is a semi-annual special on NTV that features various amateur groups performing short skits. These skits usually revolve around preforming crazy special effects live, without the use of computers, camera tricks, and the like. You might remember the 2003 winner, the internet famous Matrix Ping Pong.

This year’s winner is shown in the video above. It features an over-the-top cartoony version of a manzai comedy routine. This looks more like a Bugs Bunny cartoon than anything, but it is pretty amazing what effects can be pulled off using pure ingenuity.
