Huzzah! New gameplay footage for Monolith Soft's X

It's very chatty

I love Monolith Soft.

I've been following the company ever since it was founded by Tetsuya Takahashi and Hirohide Sugiura after they left Square Co. in the late 90s. I dug the Xenosaga titles, adored Xenoblade, and even liked the Japan-only Soma Bringer for the DS.

To say I'm excited for their mysterious Wii U project would be something of an understatement. If I'm to be completely honest, I might have purchased a console just to play the game. Whoops!

We finally got some new gameplay footage from X at the Nintendo Direct yesterday, and it's nutty looking. Giant transforming robots have been added to the Xenoblade battle system, though it's difficult to tell what other sorts of tweaks have been made. The video is chatty as hell though; characters are all shouting attack names nonstop, which is a wee bit irritating.

Otherwise though, X is looking fantastic. Anybody else out there jazzed for this?
