[email protected] Cinderella Girls anime trailer sure is pretty

Flowers, flowers everywhere

The era of warring idols continue with The [email protected] Cinderella Girls turning into an anime next year. Above is the first real trailer for the TV series with a massively profitable, idol-raising mobile game behind it. It also looks gorgeous.

That should be to no one's surprise; The [email protected] Movie is re-running in Japanese theaters starting last Friday to promote the home video release of the same in early October. This Cinderella Girls trailer tacked on to the feature film and gave fans of the long-running franchise an early taste. It can't look too shabby if it's to follow Aniplex's big budget idol project.

For the unaware, Cinderella Girls is a 2012 mobile game from Mobage where hardcore users are known to put in tens of thousands of dollars to get their favorite characters. The game features hundreds of different idols, but only about 40 are getting voices in the form of character songs and in the game. Over the years player voting and ranking have determined which characters get better treatment than others, and the anime trailer prominently features Uzuki, Rin and Mio, some of the most popular girls from the game.

For the more-aware, how do you feel about ShibuRin and ChanMio as your Cool and Passion representatives, respectively? It's probably not a big deal compared to having Uzuki being ordained from above as the Cinderella Girls main spokesperson and always the Cute rep. She's also cute, but you already know that.
