Is Shigeru Miyamoto retiring? 'Nope,' says Nintendo


You may have heard some news circulating about the gaming tubes that legendary game designer and all-around smiley guy Shigeru “Shiggy” Miyamoto was “retiring from [his] current position” in Nintendo, to concentrate on smaller, more personal projects and pass the torch on to young bucks with proposals for games like The Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare. Just kidding about that last part.

Well, you can silence your alarm klaxons, because The Big N has declared this news to be “a misunderstanding”. Said a spokesperson from Nintendo:

”This is absolutely not true...There seems to have been a misunderstanding. He has said all along that he wants to train the younger generation. He has no intention of stepping down. Please do not be concerned."

So yes, don’t be concerned. The man behind Mario isn’t going anywhere just yet. But still...The Legend of Zelda: Modern Warfare!
