Japanator contest: Win tickets to New York Anime Fest!

I've got a special spot in my heart for New York Anime Fest. It might be because I don't have to travel four hours to get there or anything extravagant. It might also be because Peter Tatara and everyone at Reed does an awesome job of running the event. Well, whatever the case may be, we're celebrating our love of the event by giving away four tickets to the show!

You might remember we did this sort of thing last year. And we're doing it again this year. We've got four tickets, and want you to equip yourself with a microphone to let out your inner GAR and moe. Down below, we've got four lines for you to take your shot at. Once you've sat down and recorded yourself talking, go ahead and send in the audio clips to [email protected]. We'll pick the winners and send out the tickets in two weeks time, and once again put together a podcast with all your entries.

For those who think they're GAR enough to be a Gundam pilot:

  • Domon: "This hand of mine glows with an awesome power! It's loud roar tells me to defeat you! Take this! My love! My anger! And all of my sorrow!"
  • Char: "Char Aznable says, let the purge begin!"

And for those of you who can't stand to watch giant mechs fight all day, time to practice your Japanese and try out these two moe phrases:

And if you're not in the New York area? Don't worry, we've got a mountain of prizes sitting here to ship off to you! So please, let your voices be heard. Remember, send your entries in to [email protected]. You can always upload them to YouTube and post them in the community blogs if you want feedback from the community. So remember: two weeks. September 15th.
