Japanator is going to MegaCon '16

Fourth time's a charm

As a quick heads-up, Japanator is heading to MegaCon 2016, which is located in Orlando, Fla. One thing that makes the event special is that it's one of Florida's largest conventions.

Even though MegaCon is mostly themed around Western films, tv shows and comics, the convention has a few anime and manga related stuff. This year, Ryo Horikawa (Dragon Ball Z's Vegeta, Akibaranger Season 2's General Pain) is appearing at the con and he's holding a panel about his time with Dragon Ball Super. There's also a few people from FUNimation (such as Chris Sabat, Sean Schemmel, and Colleen Clinkenbeard) that are making an appearance as they're holding a couple Q&A segments, along with some events about the show's they're in, such as a Fairy Tail and High School DxD panel.

If you're interested in seeing the other anime attractions that are happening at the con, you can head here. Also, the most important event that I'll have to check out is the panel by University of Florida Professor Jenne Vermes where she talks about how watching anime could lead to good grades in school. Who knows, this information might be very valuable to people.

While my previous time with the con was alright, I'm interested in seeing how the convention's change in management will affect it this year, as Informa, the gang behind the conventions like Fan Expo Dallas and Fan Expo Canada are now running the show. Based on this predicament, my fourth MegaCon visit might change my views with the event.

I plan to check out as much of MegaCon's anime offerings for Japanator. If any of you who're going to the con are interested in meeting up, be sure to look for a tall bald guy that's wearing a Jtor shirt, a Gurren Lagann x Kirby shirt, or a black Dragon Ball Z shirt that has normal Goku and Frieza on it.
