Japanator LIVE: Dance through the darkness with Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

You can't go wrong with surprises

[Update: The stream is over, but you can watch it here and here.]

With this weekend being the first that's not on a major holiday, it's time for me to enter the scene again. Thanks to a close friend of mine, I was able to nab the PC version of the latest Shantae title, Half-Genie Hero. In other words, we're in for an unexpected and unintended conclusion to this recent Shantaeathon.

Considering that this new game was designed so new folks could get into the series, I have a feeling that we won't see many references to the events from the previous titles; however, I have a feeling that we'll get to see some stuff that'll reward those who kept up with all of Shantae's adventures.

Of course, I'm looking forward to imersing myself into Half-Genie Hero's gorgeous environments and character movements since it's always a treat to go through titles that feel like 2D illustrations and animations.
