Japanese Bus tries out free USB charging for passengers

Free USBiribiri Power!

Don't you hate it when your portable entertainment device just dies in the middle of your viewing of homoerotic ice skating anime? Or when you're reading the latest volume of your Monster Girl manga? Carrying USB power banks to charge up devices are now the norm for power users but even those run out.

Japanese commuters now have a chance to test out charging their USB powered devices on one public bus in the Tokyo area. This trial is free to bus riders and while not the first public bus to implement such a service, this is a great thing for a country where a large part of the population relies on public transportation and hopefully becomes available in public transportation.

Just a bit of warning, don't just go plugging in your phone to any publicly available USB port or cable to charge because of all the malware and viruses. Look into "USB condoms" or those USB Power boosters that let you charge tablets on lower mAh chargers they used to have, these items block the data connections and only let power through.
