Jellyfish Princess fully licensed for US release, kulala~

This last fall season, FUNimation simulcasted the light-hearted anime Jellyfish Princess (aka: Kuragehime), which ended up becoming well-received here at Japanator, if not being considered a bit too short. Not too long following that, FUNi posed a question to all of their fans: Would you think it'd be worth it to bring Jellyfish Princess to home release in the US?

Well, thankfully enough of you guys answered positively, because FUNimation has just announced that the 11-episode series will be making its way to DVD and Blu-Ray! Huzzah!

In case you missed it when it premiered, the series focuses on the adventures of a sisterhood of NEET shut-in's, each with their own charming quirks and otaku tendencies towards various things, like trains, kimonos and jellyfish. The group gets help from a mysterious cross-dressing boy to fight against both the threat of their dorm house being redeveloped as well as their constant fear of the stylish and hipster people in the world.

The series will get the full English dub treatment and is said to be released sometime in 2012. The entire series is on Hulu and Youtube so if you must, check it out.
