Jtor Kind of Recommends: My Girlfriend is the President

Ero games. They are normally titled something like Yukkuri Panic: Escalation and Water Closet: The Forbidden Chamber. So when you scroll through these titles you have to stop at a title like My Girlfriend is the President. Politics? In a ero game? Well, yes and no. It's more of the backdrop then the main point. All the parts are still there for an ero game. So don't worry.

This seems like a very fresh change of pace from the norm, which can be a good thing. I'll explain more in detail after the jump.

My Girlfriend is the President
Developer: ALcot's

MSRP: $34.95 [Buy it from J-List here]

Let's start from the beginning. One day, a spaceship comes to Earth, that is, crashes into Japan and destroys it. Seeing that this is going to ruin her insurance coverage, our quick thinking alien tries to put it all back how it was. Wiping peoples memories and rebuilding Japan to the United States of Nippon, with the same style of government as us here in the west. Seeing as this is a bishoujo game, we just couldn't have a any old president, now could we? Meet out new moe president, President Ohama. Yeah, your going to have to get use to that style of jokes because it's all over the game.

Moving along, you play the protagonist Hondou Junichirou, the Vice President and childhood friend of Ohama. Jun is the only one that remembers what it was like before the crash. Something that has troubled him. Is he the only one or are there others that remember too? The plot thickens. Jun is your typical ero protagonist: loves woman, sexual harassment, ero games, the whole nine yards. He is also a fourth wall breaker, which at times can be fairly humorous.

The game starts picking up when the new leader of Russia, Irina Vladimirovna Putina, comes to Nippon for a visit. You should be seeing a pattern here. So moving on, let's start the breakdown of the games parts.

The writing in the game is funny and enjoyable. I found myself smiling and laughing quite a bit. Knowing some lingo will help you appreciate this humor. I didn't really find too many errors in the writing too which is a plus.  Sometimes it will get to you if you keep seeing errors and start to question the quality of the game. They have done a fine job.

The voices in the game fit the characters very well. Each voice for the females coincide with their personalities, all of which are pretty cute, I must say. Speaking of voices, make sure your sound is adjusted properly. Some of the high pitch screaming seems to be a bit louder then the regular talking voices.  The male voices in the game on the other hand... Besides your head of intelligence, they're all bat-shit crazy! Really, this is the only thing that is so over-the-top its funny. The times when they start their sentences with a screamed english word is just so wrong. Funny but wrong. I'd even go so far to say that it actually brings the game down a bit. At least the game gives you the option to turn any one's voice off if you so desire.

The background music is wonderful and light, as I didn't mind having it on at all, even when I was playing and stepped into the kitchen for a bit. Hearing it loop in the background was not getting on my nerves, which a lot can do, so I kept the music on most of the time, just in a lower volume then everything else. The sound FX were nice too.

Let me bring this up now: if you are looking for the "relationship" part of this game, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that you have a lot of reading to do to get there. It really doesn't show up till near the end. At this time, you are pretty much on that girl's path, no turning back now. Also, there is no harem ending. I know, sorry. The good news is that it's uncensored. You get to see the whole thing, if you get my drift. Another great thing, and I believe this is the standard now, is that you get a ton of save spots. There are around 80, so save to your hearts content.

With the lack of options in game and only four paths to chose from, the game is lacking in variety. I would be more inclined to call this a visual novel then an actual ero game. You spend most of the time just reading text, which is not to say isn't enjoyable, but I was hoping to actually "play" more. Overall, I still had a good time with it. It's been way too long since I got to play a game like this. I would suggest this game to anyone that is looking for something more fun then just a sex romp. You kind of get a better feel for the story then anything else. At least that is what I took away from this.

7 - Good (7s are solid games that definitely have an audience. There are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.)
