Kei Sugita's Uta Koi to get anime adaptation

0

It was just revealed that TYO Animations is currently working on a TV animated series based on Kei Sugita's historical josei manga Chouyaku Hyakuninisshu: Uta Koi. According to sources, the show will be produced by NAS and directed by Kenichi Kasai (Nodame Cantabile, Honey and Clover).

It was also announced that Tomoko Konpasu (Glass no Kamen, NANA) will be in charge of writing the series' scripts, and that Aki Tsunaki (Legend of Basara, Chihayafuru) will serve as character designer. No further details have been made available thus far, but an official website featuring a teaser trailer was launched this week.

The Chouyaku Hyakuninisshu manga narrates some of the tales compiled in the Hyakuninisshu anthology. The series is fairly popular among Japanese readers, with more than 400,000 copies having been printed as of today.
