Licensing GET: Bandai grabs Nichijou, Gosick, more Geass

In what is doubtless the most significant news of this year's Otakon for people who like Victorian-era lolis, non sequiturial anime, or Code Geass, Bandai has announced its licensing of three such things. Rejoice!

First, they announced their acquisition of Sherloli Holmes Gosick, the anime about studios stuffing a little girls into frock and gowns and other frilly outfits as she solves mysteries. They also picked up the manga, for people who'd like to read about little girls in their frocks and gowns and other frilly outfits solving mysteries.

Second, they picked up both the manga and anime for Nichijou, known to people watching our weekly Annotated Anime coverage as My Ordinary Life. As for what Nichijou is actually about...that's a tough one. All I can say is that it's hella pretty when it does whatever it does.

Thirdly, and of greatest interest to Geass fans and people who like robot arms that shoot 100 shuriken at once, they've licensed Code Geass: Renya of the Darkness, the spinoff that most people honestly thought was a joke, since it was set in the Edo period of the Code Geass universe and starred a girl who looked exactly like C.C. and a guy who looked exactly like Lelouche, except he had a robot arm...that shoots...100 shuriken at once.

It's just as Vice-President Chief Assistant CEO Bear decreed!
