Manga predicted reactor meltdown?

0

It seems that the manga Hakuryu Legend experienced a bit of ESP in its last issue. Recently the manga began it's "Atomic Mafia" story arc, and the dialogue included in the latest issue is eerily similar to what people have been saying during the real life Fukushima crisis. The March 24 edition was released on the day of the earthquake and featured the character Shirakawa and his gang talking to a man who tells them about the shady nature of the local power company's reactor saying things like:

"There's been a lot of accidents happening inside the reactor that never get leaked to the press."
"Toto Denryoku [the power company] knows how to use money and political power to keep everything hidden!"
"The workings of the reactor are 15 years behind the technology in chemical manufacturing plants."
"The reactors have been patched together by a number of different subcontractors."
"And on top of that, the construction is really sloppy!"
"If the main workings of the reactor were to be blown off, you'd have an accident on the scale of Chernobyl!"

Pretty creepily accurate, if you ask me. This manga, like so many other works, has been temporarily canceled until further notice due to its content being insensitive during this time of hardship. The publisher of Weekly Manga Goraku where this manga is included said that once enough time passes, they will consider bringing back Hakuryu Legend

However, this isn't the first time that Hakuryu Legend has predicted something that later happened in real life, having had a section concerning fixed sumo matches by the yakuza, which then later occurred that same summer. Hm, makes you wonder how psychic, or well informed, the author could be. Me? I'm going to go with psychic, because it sounds cooler.
