Maria Holic Alive OP video is super creepy

The official Website for Maria Holic Alive recently released a music video for the opening theme, Runrunriru Ranranrara as sung by Yu Kobayashi. The strange thing about this video is that Kobayashi herself is computer generated in a super deformed version who prances around and child-like landscape. The landscape is quite appropriate as the video is made to celebrate Children's Day and the Golden Week holidays.

Kobayashi also has an alter ego in the music video who goes by the name of "Lady Yu," which clearly seems like a rip-off of Lady Gaga to me. Oh, and did I mention that Kobayashi has pig dangers and musicians with her? Yeah, it only really continues to get weirder.

I've never been a huge fan of anime OPs and EDs unless they are absolutely stunning and the song is really catchy, but this music video just creeps me out and makes me not want to watch it. Well, not without a few drinks in me first. The video will run on a huge screen in Shibuya's Miyamasuzaka-shita shopping district during the 5-5:30 p.m. slot from May 9-13 and again from May 16-20, while the CD will go on sale in Japan on May 25 in both limited and regular editions.

Hit the jump to see the video for yourself. Do you see the Lady Gaga influence I'm sensing?
