May'N heads to San Francisco's J-POP SUMMIT

Why does California get everything?

Things are heating up this summer with the announcement of May'n as the guest of honor at San Francisco's sixth annual J-POP SUMMIT. Although the Nagoya native has made herself a superstar in the world of Japanese pop music, anime fans probably know her best as the singing voice of Macross Frontier's Galatic Fairy, Sheryl Nome. Her amazing vocal style helped relaunch the aging series to a height that some people hold higher than the original Macross show.

Last year J-POP summit featured an epic performance by super-diva Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and was attended by over 80,000 people.  The show takes place in San Francisco's lovely Japan Town area and while free, has certain paid events. The event is scheduled for July 19th and 20th, with the concerts happening a bit down the road at Union Square.

If you're a fan of anime, music, fashion, or good food; I'm sure you don't want to miss this. For more information on the event, you can visit J-POP.com, or stop into the NEW PEOPLE place. I'm sure this one is going to off the chain, so if there's a way to get tickets in advance, I highly suggest you take care of business. It's not often we get J-Pop royalty to swing through town! I've had the luxury of seeing May'n live, and I can tell you it is one of the best show's I've seen my whole life.
