Meet the real Meijin Kawaguchi at Anime Expo '17

Will he wear the flashy shades?

Now here's a familiar name from an awesome Gundam anime. It turns out that Bluefin will have the Master of GunPla (Gundam and plastic fused together), Meijin Kawaguchi, appear at this year's Anime Expo. Of course, the person attending the con is the real deal, instead of Takuya Sato.

Aside from people getting the chance to get the guy's autograph, Kawaguchi will appear in an industry panel, which might be a nice treat for those who love to build Gundam model kits.

Since I never got to dive into GunPla beyond building three model kits, I was a surprised that the "Meijin" title from Gundam Build Fighters and Try was based on a real person. I guess this is another example of learning something interesting about the things one loves.

With Bluefin hosting the GunPla Builders World Cup, they made a nice move in having Kawaguchi appearing at Anime Expo '17 since he's one of the contest's judges.

Of course, Bluefin will sell a couple exclusive kits at the event, such as Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Build Fighter Try's Super Fumina. If you're interested in learning more about the other stuff that they'll be selling at the con, you can head here.

Since Anime Expo '17 runs from July 1 through July 4, it looks like people won't have to wait a good while to shake hands with the real Meijin Kawaguchi. From the looks of it, I have a feeling that it'll be a great year for GunPla Builders.
