Mega Man board game kickstarter enters its final hours

At least it's more Mega Man

By now you've probably heard of this kickstarter for a Mega Man board game. It's been all over the net, and covered on practically every major gaming site out there. Well, it's down to the final hours, and the project has managed to raise over $340,000. Impressive, right? The original goal was set at just $70,000, which is already an obscene amount of money for a board game, but I digress. With their goal already met, it would seem the game is well on its way to becoming a reality.

Of course, I'm not sure how I should feel about it. On one hand, it's more Mega Man, and I suppose that might be a good thing, especially since Capcom seems intent on letting their Blue-Bomber die a quiet death. On the other hand, supporting this project would seem to fly in the face of so many fans who swore they'd never purchase another Mega Man product ever again once Inafune left the company.

Now, I realize that by virtue of the fact that the property is simply being licensed, it's not quite the same, but I do have to wonder if fans might see this as a giant middle finger towards Comcept for proving that they (the fans) actually exist, despite Capcom's belief to contrary. All I know is that if you care about contributing to the project, you only have a short window of opportunity, so head on over to the project homepage and check it out.
