More Final Fantasy XV footage than you can shake a phantom sword at

40 minutes of hot boys and lotsa swordfightin'

It still feels almost unreal after so many years of being nothing more than a twinkle in Tetsuya Nomura's eye, but Final Fantasy XV looks like it might be an actual game that might be released. Square Enix is banking on that stunned realization and is exploiting the gaming world's confused vulnerability by releasing over 40 minutes of hot, raw footage from the game...or rather, the game's playable demo, Episode Duscae, which will be handed off to folks who buy copies of the PS4 rerelease of Final Fantasy Type-0 next month.

The demo itself is expected to clock in at about three hours, and contain a taster of just about everything that'll be in the main game except for driving that crew's hot-ass sports car. In fact, that car is the objective, as the story of Episode Duscae puts Noctis and his buddies in the hole with a local garage, as they must earn enough Gil to pay for repairs to their ride before they can move on.

Earning the Gil will involve killing off a whole bunch of monsters with awesome ghost swords, and also apparently cooking over a campfire. This game is sounding more and more like The Adventures of J-Pop Boy Band in Fantasy Wilderness, and I have zero problems with that.
